Attending High Point Market, NC

We are still shaking off the hype from this year’s High Point Market. With over 14 floors each 80,000 sq feet of showrooms, we were overjoyed with how much there was to see. Everything from light fixtures, decor, indoor and outdoor furniture, linens, art, textiles, pillows, I mean the works! I was so impressed with the collection of amazing designers that attended. Some of which I recognized, and other designers newly discovered.

Being able to see all the new trends under one roof was truly remarkable. This style of furniture is regarded as playful, candied, plush with curvy arms and corners. As pictured below. Nearly every designer has at least one piece that echoed this style.

With so many designers to see, it proved challenging to navigate the endless black holes of the showrooms, floor after floor. A few stood out to me that I will certainly work with moving forward. Palecek, Noir Furniture, and Roberta Schilling. Their refined collection of unique decor, lighting, and furniture pieces was to die for!

Overall the event was really well organized. Healthy lunches were served at most of the large showrooms, so you could eat without leaving the main building, and continue shopping of course. Just outside the main building was a huge selection of different food truck options. And if you needed a caffeine boost throughout, you could visit the 1st floor for a delicious tasting cappuccino.

In addition to the main building, there’s was a massive street map of walkable designer furniture stores to explore. With High Point, NC being the furniture capital of the world. There wasn’t anything you couldn’t find here! The event also offered great networking events, workshops, meet and greets with the designers. If you are looking to pursue a journey as an interior designer, I highly recommend visiting this event.
