At a young age I remember sketching buildings, drawing rooms with furniture and even building doll houses out of cardboard. As a teenager, my mother taught me to sew and work with all kinds of fabrics and textiles. My mother’s talented ability to work with arts and crafts inspired me to be creative and allowed me an opportunity to be influenced by design. This has played a huge part in the designer I am today.
Growing up in South Florida gave me the opportunity to interact with a melting pot of different cultures enriched with artistic and historical influences. I’ve been able to express my artistic side not only with interior design but also redesigning furniture and creating art pieces that I like to incorporate into my designs.
For the past ten years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many different projects. I’ve designed and decorated medical office spaces, professional offices, residential home, and high rise lofts among others. I’ve also collaborated with other colleagues and architects on commercial upscale projects. I understand my clients and their needs, allowing them to incorporate their personalities into the design without jeopardizing my creative approach.
Today, I can truly say that my dreams have become a reality. Mara.Hu Design, collaborates with a talented team of professionals from all areas of the industry. Together we are transforming homes throughout South Florida.
